Neslihan Yakut

Neslihan Yakut, born in Berlin in 1991 and raised there, is an author, translator, and cultural mediator. After spending ten years in Istanbul, she currently lives in Vienna. Her work spans languages, cities, and disciplines, focusing on memory, political experience, non-normative forms of intimacy and family, and the intertwining of the personal and the collective.

She studied German language and literature and education at Istanbul University and subsequently taught intercultural communication and literary translation at Marmara University. In 2019, she moved to Vienna to study language arts at the University of Applied Arts; since then, she has devoted herself increasingly to her own literary projects. Yakut publishes poetry, essays, and short prose in Turkish, German, and English.

Her debut novel will be published by Aufbau in the spring of 2027.
