Michael Kobr

He is one of the most successful German bestselling authors of recent years: Michael Kobr was born in Kempten, studied German and Roman languages and literature in Erlangen, and then worked as a secondary school teacher. In 2003, together with Volker Klüpfel, he published the first case of the Allgäu detective “Kluftinger”: "Milchgeld”. This was the beginning of an unprecedented success story that continues to this day - with "Affenhitze" the twelfth part of the series again reached the number one spot on the bestseller list in 2022. Over the years, the authors have received numerous awards for their work. Michael Kobr is a passionate traveler, and one of his declared and long-standing favorite destinations is the Danish Baltic island Bornholm. This is where "Sonne über Gudhjem" is set, the start of his first solo crime series about the investigator Lennart Ipsen. The author lives in Unterallgäu and Austria with his family.
