Ildikó von Kürthy

Ildikó von Kürthy (1968) was born in Aachen, Germany. She attended the Henri Nannen School of Journalism in Hamburg after completing secondary school, then she spent several years writing for women’s magazine Brigitte and the German weekly news magazine Stern. She was awarded the Axel Springer Prize in the ‘print’ category in 1993 and the DeLiA literature prize in 2004 (third place).
More than six million copies of her books have been published to date and her work has been translated into more than 30 languages. Her novel Mondscheintarif was adapted for cinema in 2001 and her first play Liebeslügen oder Treue ist auch keine Lösung opened in Hamburg in 2016.
Ildikó von Kürthy writes freelance content for magazines and lives with her family in Hamburg.
