Caroline Wahl, born in Mainz in 1995, grew up near Heidelberg. She studied German language and literature in Tübingen and German literature in Berlin. She then worked for several publishing houses. In 2023, her debut novel “22 Bahnen” was published, for which she received the Ulla Hahn Author's Prize, the Grimmelshausen Sponsorship Prize, and the Ravensburger Verlag Foundation's Family Novel Book Prize, among others. “22 Bahnen” also became the Independent's favorite book of 2023. Her second novel, “Windstärke 17”, was also a huge success and remained at the top of the bestseller lists for months. In 2025, the film adaptation of “22 Bahnen” was released in cinemas and her new novel, “Die Assistentin”, was published. Caroline Wahl lives in Kiel.
